SC11 Tuesday Recap
AHPCC had a hectic day. We participated in a number of meetings with vendors, collaborators, etc.
Meetings with IBM, ScaleMP, ACT, and Panasas, to name a few, gave a good
feel for how things are shaping up for the near future.
David had his hands full with vendors as we continue to evaluate new
technologies. Jeff was involved with both GPN and XSEDE. The GPN meeting was based in InCommon Authentication and
Educational efforts in the region. The XSEDE meeting was a lengthy one on
the topic of Campus Bridging"
David and Jeff also attended the CASC luncheon to get an updated report of
funding status for NSF and other agencies in Washington DC. Things
appear to be looking up! In addition to the many friends and associates
in attendance (~150), we were happy to see Amy Apon for a few minutes.
